In March 2023 work began to replace the cladding on the 11-storey building and was completed in July 2024.

At the same time, A2Dominion created an Enhanced Housing Management Team, providing customers with a single point of contact for concerns or questions relating to building safety and housing management.

This included the introduction of a dedicated Property and Safety Manager for the scheme who is on site regularly, available to meet residents and resolve issues.

Former BBC employee, who has worked in communications for most of his career, shares his experience of the cladding replacement works and the positive difference his property manager has made.

Andy Walker said: “The cladding has been sorted out - it took around a year. It all went really, really well. The people who worked on the site were wonderful.

“The creation of the Enhanced Housing Management Team is greatly welcomed. I find it easy to contact the manager for this estate. He is often seen within the building and is approachable and helpful.

“I am a wheelchair-user and have had on-going problems with an automated door in my corridor. The local estate manager is doing much more to resolve this problem. Things are changing for the better.

“I believe that this informal and ongoing face-to-face relationship with a member of the estate team works really well and results in better outcomes for everyone.”

Saleh Mirza, A2Dominion’s Head of Building and Fire Safety, said: “The cladding replacement works at Dominion House started in March 2023 and took just over a year. The building now has a new cladding system which is a safe and non-combustible material.”

Daniel Simpson, A2Dominion’s Head of Enhanced Housing Management, added: “There is now a dedicated Property and Safety Manager at Dominion House, who is on-site weekly and available to meet residents. He shares regular updates and resolves outstanding issues. We’ve had good feedback and are pleased residents are getting a better experience.”
