Through our community projects, we’ve generated more than £12 million in social value, which is a formula used across the housing sector to measure and understand the difference we’re making through the opportunities we provide.

In the 2023/24 report, customers talk about the importance of our initiatives, which have helped boost their income, develop skills and improve their mental and physical health.

Lucy Jones was the winner of our Community Champion Award, which celebrates the hard work and positive impact our customers make towards their communities.

She was given a grant of £500 for her school uniform project. Lucy collects unwanted uniforms, in good condition, for several schools in Spelthorne, Surrey, which many of our customers’ children attend.

Lucy said: “In some way, the school uniform project takes away some of the financial burden on parents and any stigma around providing a uniform, as they don’t have to ask for support from the school."

What we’ve achieved with your help

Here is a snapshot of achievements over the last year:

  • 2,245 customers accessed £9.5m of grants, funds and benefits.
  • 38 customers were mentored and supported to secure full or part time work. And 85 were given 1-2-1 support with their personal development and the opportunity to attend workshops and job fairs.
  • 5 tonnes of surplus food distributed to 150 families each week, supporting 600 individuals.
  • 884 volunteer hours were contributed to community projects.
  • We ran 8 Big Impact days, where we’ve met with you to talk about issues and services available, as well as completing minor repairs and clearing dumped items.
  • We hosted 18 community events, providing cost of living support, local fun days and sports and activities for children and young people.

Dawn Wightman, A2Dominion’s Director of Homes and Communities said: “We’re proud to have been able to provide support through the ongoing challenges of cost-of-living pressures.

“This report shines a light on the incredible work our volunteers, partners, funders and our teams, have carried out to make a difference to the lives of thousands of customers."
